Knowing Love

It is fascinating how love and death cannot be explained with one sole definition, and I
can say, with certainty: I also cannot give you a definition. I can say how it makes me feel, and I
do not think there is a day I don’t ever not want to feel it run course through my body. When you
find the person you like to hang out with all the time – your best bud – you want to hang out
with them all the time. You feel weird when you are not around their presence. Even when you
don’t know what to do, the simple event of just being there in their vicinity is enough to sate you.
Love grows too. You know you’re with the right person if there are still things to learn after
about four years of being with them. You never get bored of being with that person, and that
person peaks your interest. I feel like I’ve just scratched the surface with all that I know about
her. I feel like she still has things to find out about me too. We’re both constantly changing too.
That’s another thing I can add – Love changes you, and it makes you be the best version of
yourself. I’ve been through a lot of things, and I’ve also done things that I regret. When you love
someone and they want to see the best from you, it makes you feel like a wreck sometimes, but
then motivates you to heal others, thereby healing yourself too. Like a domino effect! You start
to have better relationships with other loved ones as well; it could be why people say happiness
is contagious. I know love now, and I feel lucky to have it in my life. You can see its effects on so
many people. It’s pretty great.
