Love

I think love is something we all crave; something the human soul (and really any living thing)

cannot live without. Isn’t that crazy? We literally know nothing about why we are here, but

somehow, our beings light up when we experience the connection and joy that is love. Even

when we show plants love, they flourish! I wonder what this says about the power of connection

and also what this says about how this Universe is governed.

I am grateful to know love. I see it everyday in my boyfriend’s smile, his eyes. I feel it when I

recognize at random moments that our souls are right for each other. I’d like to think that even

when our bodies perish, our souls will go on dancing with each other, haha. Love is scary, but it

is worth it. When you love, it’s like putting your heart in the balance of two ships. If the two ships

stay together, your heart is happy and content. But if one of those ships leaves for whatever

reason, your heart suddenly plunges into the depths of the cold, dark ocean. Haha, the risks we

face just to feel love even though we know it may not last is crazy to think about. But even

though the thought of losing someone you share your soul with is traumatizing, it’s even more

heartbreaking to avoid such connections because without love (love between parents, siblings,

significant others), what’s the purpose of living? Our biology may live for ourselves, but our

souls live for others. Love truly is all around, and it governs everything we do.
